Enter indirect proportion expression in this form x_1/y_1 = x_2/y_2
Indirect proportion or inverse proportion means that when one quantity goes up, the other goes down, and vice versa. It’s like a see-saw – when one side goes up, the other side goes down.
For example, when you walk faster, you will reach your destination sooner. This is because your speed and the time it takes to get somewhere are in indirect proportion. The faster you walk, the less time it will take.
Let’s say it takes 2 hours to drive 100 miles. If you drive faster, you will cover the same distance in less time. If you drive at 60 mph instead of 50 mph, it will take you less time to reach your destination. This is an example of indirect proportion.
