Solves mean of any dataset

Mean

\frac{\sum x}{N}=\frac{ n_1+n_2+n_n+…}{N}

The mean of a dataset is a measure of central tendency that represents the average value of the data. It is calculated by adding up all the values in the dataset and dividing by the total number of values.

Worked example

Consider the following dataset: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

  • To find the mean of this dataset, you would add up all the values: 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 30
  • Then, divide by the total number of values in the dataset, which is 5: 30 / 5 = 6

Therefore, the mean of this dataset is 6.
